MH-53J/M
MH-53J/M Weapons System Trainers Customer: Lockheed Martin Information Systems User: U.S. Air Force Aircrew Training & Rehearsal Support (ATARS) Program ASI was selected by Lockheed Martin to upgrade the U.S. Air Force (USAF) MH-53J WST and MH-53M WST as part of the ATARS program. The purpose of this upgrade was to improve the fidelity of the training system to provide required aircrew training and mission rehearsal capabilities located at Kirtland AFB, NM. The MH-53J and MH-53M WST training devices provide training and rehearsal support for the Special Operations Forces. This contract included the design, development, installation, integration, and test of a high fidelity flight dynamics model, an engine dynamics model, and an automatic test generation system. These systems provide the trainee with the force, feel, and feedback consistent with the operation of the MH-53J/M helicopter in all flight and ground operations. The following MH-53J/M systems were developed and/or integrated by ASI:
ASI also provided Program Management and Logistics Support services to support the successful completion of this program. Delivery Status and Customer Satisfaction Deliveries were on time with complete satisfaction by the customer and the users. About the MH-53J/M Pave Low
The MH-53M Pave Low IV is a J-model that has been modified with the Interactive Defensive Avionics System/Multi-Mission Advanced Tactical Terminal. This system greatly enhances present defensive capabilities of the Pave Low. It provides instant access to the total battlefield situation, using near real-time electronic Order of Battle updates. It also provides a new level of detection avoidance with near real-time threat broadcasts over-the-horizon, so crews can avoid and defeat threats, and re-plan en route if needed.
