KC-130 Operational Flight Trainers

The modification of Device 2F107 included replacement of the Perkin Elmer (PE) 3260 host computer system with the Concurrent MAXION 9502, replacement of the I/O system, replacement of the Instructor/Operator Station (IOS), and replacement of the analog communication system with a new digital system. It also included incorporation of numerous aircraft system changes. These involved addition of Control Display Navigation Units in the trainer cockpit and IOS, addition of the AN/ARC-210 radio system, addition of a simulated Global Positioning System (GPS), plus incorporation of Avionics System Improvement Programs (ASIP) I, II and III. The ASIP modifications affected the following systems: Inertial Navigation System, Omega Navigation System, True Airspeed System, VHF Transceiver, AN/ARC-182 Radio System, Automatic Direction Finder, TACAN, Combined Altitude Radar Altimeter, Ground Proximity Warning System, Altitude Alerter/Preselect System, and the Flight Control System.
