KC-130 Operational Flight Trainers
The modification of Device 2F107 included replacement of the Perkin Elmer (PE) 3260 host computer system with the Concurrent MAXION 9502, replacement of the I/O system, replacement of the Instructor/Operator Station (IOS), and replacement of the analog communication system with a new digital system. It also included incorporation of numerous aircraft system changes. These involved addition of Control Display Navigation Units in the trainer cockpit and IOS, addition of the AN/ARC-210 radio system, addition of a simulated Global Positioning System (GPS), plus incorporation of Avionics System Improvement Programs (ASIP) I, II and III. The ASIP modifications affected the following systems: Inertial Navigation System, Omega Navigation System, True Airspeed System, VHF Transceiver, AN/ARC-182 Radio System, Automatic Direction Finder, TACAN, Combined Altitude Radar Altimeter, Ground Proximity Warning System, Altitude Alerter/Preselect System, and the Flight Control System. The modification of Device 2F107A included replacement of the PE 3260 host computer system with the Concurrent MAXION 9502, IOS replacement, addition of GPS, and addition of the AN/ARC-210 radio system. The modification of Device 2F152 included replacement of the Encore 32/67 host computer system with the Encore RSX, IOS replacement, addition of GPS, and addition of the AN/ARC-210 radio system.
