Aero Simulation, Inc. awarded contract for C-2 CNS-ATM projectTampa, Florida - December 14, 2007 - Aero Simulation Inc. (ASI), of Tampa, Florida today announced that the company has recently been awarded a contract modification, which requires the incorporation of Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) systems into the U.S. Navy’s C-2A Operational Flight Trainers (OFTs). To enhance the training capabilities of the OFT, ASI is also under contract to replace the legacy Instructor Operator Station (IOS) with ASI’s Windows based IOS. For this program, ASI will first upgrade the C-2A OFT, Device 2F168 S/N 2, located at Naval Air Station North Island. This effort will be performed in parallel with ASI’s Computer Rehost of this existing training system, which is already in process. As part of this contract, ASI is projected to also complete these same upgrades to the East Coast C-2A OFT, Device 2F168 S/N 1, located at Naval Station Norfolk. Dr. C. Michael McCarthy, ASI’s President stated “ASI is extremely pleased to continue our support of the C-2A training community. We fully understand the importance of rapidly implementing these aircraft concurrency changes within each trainer to ensure the Fleet is able to train on the new CNS/ATM equipment. We look forward to applying our leading edge technologies to deliver these high fidelity training capabilities throughout the Navy’s aircraft conversion process. We appreciate the continued confidence that NAVAIR and the E-2/C-2 Team has shown in our ability to successfully perform this type of work and look forward to working with them to make this upgrade a success.” About Aero Simulation, Inc.
