Aero Simulation, Inc. Unveils New Category Of Reconfigurable Flight Training Device at Interservice / Industry Training, Simulation and Education ConferenceTampa, Florida - Aero Simulation, Inc., (ASI) today announced that the company is unveiling a breakthrough new level of Reconfigurable Flight Training Device (RFTD) at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference being held in Orlando, Florida from November 28th through December 1st, 2005. A major drawback of past reconfigurable devices was their failure to provide a man-machine interface that was acceptable to pilots at a reasonable price. ASI’s highly scaleable device provides actual aircraft components for critical interfaces such as fully loaded flight controls, throttle quadrants and Multi-Function Control Display Units, combined with interactive, photo-realistic representations of other cockpit interfaces on flat panel touch screens. “The Aero Simulation, Inc. answer to past problems with reconfigurable trainers can combine the highest level of Operational Flight Trainer or Weapon System Trainer simulation software fidelity with fully acceptable interfaces at a fraction of OFT or WST prices,” said Joe Fernandez, ASI founder, President and CEO. “When combined with a scaleable PC image generator and display system, this is the cost effective answer to Deployable Trainer, Unit Level Training Device and Mission Rehearsal Device requirements that have not been adequately met before.” ASI’s Vice President and General Manager, Dr. C. Michael McCarthy, elaborated, “Think of the implications to operators of a number of similar but not identical aircraft models such as C-130 variants with different missions that were purchased over a number of years. This kind of fidelity has not previously been available to meet such a training challenge in previous devices at reasonable cost. Because the RFTD is highly scaleable, customer requirements, preferences and budget will have great influence on final cost.” The ASI RFTD device on display in the company’s booth at I/ITSEC simulates four (4) different configurations of the C-2 and E-2 aircraft operated by the U.S. Navy and other users around the world. ASI is well respected within the flight simulation industry as a highly cost-effective supplier with a wide range of capabilities, including simulator modifications, upgrades and site support to more advanced design and manufacture of entire training devices for military forces and governmental agencies around the world.
