Aero Simulation, Inc. Selected by Coast Guard for Contract to Provide Reconfigurable Helicopter Trainer

Aero Simulation, Inc. announced on May 2, 2003 that the company will receive a contract from the United States Coast Guard’s Aircraft Repair and Supply Center, Elizabeth City, NC to provide a Reconfigurable Cockpit Procedures Trainer (RCPT) for the USCG’s Aviation Training Center (ATC) in Mobile, Alabama. The device will support initial, re-qualification and recurrent training in the service’s HH-60J and HH-65B rotary wing aircraft.

The contract, with exercised options, totals nearly $700,000 and calls for delivery of the device to Mobile only nine and a half months after contract award. Design, development, manufacture and test of the RCPT will be performed at ASI’s Tampa, Florida facility. The design features large, touch screen liquid crystal displays and the same type of high fidelity simulation of the aircraft normally only found on the highest levels of motion-based simulators.
