Aero Simulation, Inc. receives Order to Modify MH-53M Weapon System Trainer (WST)Tampa, Florida - October 12, 2005 - Aero Simulation Inc., of Tampa, Florida (ASI) today announced that the company had received a Purchase Order from Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training and Support (LMSTS) of Orlando, Florida to provide the Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Installation, Checkout, System Integration and Management/Administrative activities required to ensure a successful upgrade of a MH-53M WST at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The modification to the WST will make the training device capable of providing Joint Shipboard Helicopter Integration Process (JSHIP) training to USAF Special Operations Forces aircrew members. The JSHIP capability will allow USAF crews that do not normally operate from Navy ships to become familiar with and develop proficiency at shipboard landings under widely varying and demanding conditions. The JSHIP modification involves the installation and integration of a highly sophisticated and realistic computer wind field model that will challenge crews with highly accurate near-ship turbulence based on actual flight test data. “This is the latest in a series of significant modification efforts for USAF Special Operations Forces MH-53 and MH-60 trainers placed with ASI by LMSTS” ” said Joe Fernandez, President and CEO of ASI. “We look forward to the opportunity to produce another highly successful modification to meet the demanding requirements of our USAF and Lockheed Martin customers. This is particularly true because it will directly impact operational readiness and safety by providing a new capability for training in a highly demanding environment.”
