Aero Simulation, Inc. completes Critical Design Review on Naval Air Systems Command Orlando - Training Systems Division contract to Update Maintenance Trainers for MH-60R and MH-60S HelicoptersTampa, Florida - September 14, 2005 - Aero Simulation Inc., of Tampa, Florida (ASI) today announced that the company successfully completed the Critical Design Review milestone on a $9.3 million Delivery Order from the Naval Air Systems Command Orlando - Training Systems Division to modify SH-60B and SH-60F Composite Maintenance Trainers (CMTs) to match the configuration and systems of the U.S. Navy’s new MH-60R and MH-60S helicopters. The successful completion of the Critical Design Review is a significant milestone marking the transition from design activities to code, build and test activities. When these trainers are placed in service, Navy helicopter maintenance trainees will now be able to arrive at squadron assignments trained on devices with a new degree of fidelity and realism matching the aircraft they will be supporting in the fleet.” Under the terms of the order, ASI will provide configuration and system upgrades for up to two SH-60B and two SH-60F existing Composite Maintenance Trainers. The Sikorsky Aircraft Company and Aviation Systems of Northwest Florida are supporting ASI as subcontractors on the program. Deliveries under the contract will also include Technical Data and Instructor / Operator Training. “ASI looks forward to moving into the next phase of this program to provide the U.S. Navy with updated Composite Maintenance Trainers reflecting the very latest helicopters in the Navy fleet, thereby continuing our established leadership in the simulation of H-60 and S-70 aircraft” said Joe Fernandez, President and CEO of ASI. “This effort was awarded in February 2005 as ASI’s first Delivery Order under the Navy’s multi-year Training Systems Contract II (TSC II). We are particularly proud of the fact that the Navy selected ASI as a TSC II Prime Contractor and the opportunities presented by other Delivery Orders that have recently been awarded to ASI.”
