Aero Simulation, Inc. Announces Receipt of Subcontract for E-2D Aircrew Training Systems

TAMPA, Florida - Aero Simulation, Inc. (ASI) has been selected by Rockwell Collins to support the development of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Integrated Training System for Aircrew (HITS-A). As part of the Rockwell Collins E-2D HITS-A Team, ASI will develop and deliver E-2D Operational Flight Trainers (OFTs) and Aircrew Procedures Trainers (APTs).

“This subcontract award establishes ASI as the recognized leader in E-2 and C-2A Flight Training Systems,” said Dr. Michael McCarthy, president of ASI.  “Our excellent past performance for the E-2C/C-2A communities and best value solution for this new E-2D HITS-A requirement clearly provided the foundation for this award. We are excited to be part of the Rockwell Collins Team for the development of E-2D training systems.”

The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye will feature a state-of-the art radar with a two generation leap in capability, as well as upgraded aircraft systems and avionics that will improve supportability and increase readiness. Using this capability, the E-2D will provide area surveillance, communications relay, search and rescue coordination and air traffic control, and will provide advance warning of approaching enemy surface units, smaller targets and aircraft vectoring interceptors, and strike aircraft in an attack.
